Seiko Instruments S-5844 temperature switch IC
Seiko Instruments has released what it claims is the world’s lowest power consumption 180 nA temperature switch IC. The S-5844 series features 1.65 V operating voltage and has been optimised for use in mobile phones, notebook PCs, tablet PCs and other battery operated portable designs.
Temperature switch ICs are used to monitor temperature to keep devices functioning within a normal operating temperature range.
The series detects the specified temperature and protects the device from heat generation by inverting its output when the temperature threshold is reached. The output voltage is restored when the temperature drops to the specified release temperature.
