Quatech’s performance series 4-port serial express cards provide serial ports that are connected directly to the host system’s PCI Express bus.

The controllers support a single PCI Express lane operating at up to 2.5 Gbps data rate.

In addition, a PCI Express-based design can directly use I/O address space and interrupts, more closely emulating traditional built-in ports that can be done via USB-based designs.

The 4-port models include the QSPXP-100 4-port RS232 serial card and the QSPXP-200/300 4-port RS232/485 serial card. Dual port and single port RS232 and RS422/485 models are also available.

All cards support data rate speeds of up to 921.6 Kbps. The design offers flexibility with deeper FIFOs, auto half-duplexing transmit control on RS422/485 cards and full compatibility with all Windows COM port settings. While the series is I/O addressable, legacy DOS addresses are not supported.

All cards are RoHS compliant and support Windows 2000, XP, Server 2003 and Vista platforms.
