With a powerful processor, soldered RAM and 2 GB solid-state disk, the SpaceRunner-LX800 board is said to be equipped for rough environments. Consuming 5 W, it does not need active cooling.

The board is designed for applications running in adverse environmental conditions. The PC/104-Plus processor module is suitable for ambient temperatures from -40 to +85 °C without requiring active cooling. With the integrated solid-state disk, systems without any moving parts can be built.

The embedded module is a self-contained single board computer built around the AMD Geode LX800 at 0.9 W processor and the CS5536 IO.

The clock rate is 500 MHz.

It comprises all peripherals required for stand-alone operation. There is 256 MB of soldered DDR-RAM, an integrated graphics controller handling up to 1920x1440 pixels and CRT and LVDS interfaces for flat panel LCD screens.

Communication interfaces include a 100 Mbit LAN port, four USB 2.0 host ports and two flexible serial ports, selectable for RS232, RS422, or RS485 levels. Apart from the disk holding two GB, an IDE port is provided.

The module is plug compatible with its predecessor, the Cool SpaceRunner-II, and can be plugged into carrier boards originally designed for this older board.

The latest board uses the LiPPERT enhanced management technology. It handles the board's housekeeping tasks like power sequencing and watchdog and provides utility functions for the application.

Among them is a secure, write and clear protected flash area that can be used for security keys. LEMT also supports remote condition monitoring.

Supported operating systems include Windows XP, XP Embedded, Windows CE, Linux, and VxWorks.
