Renesas Electronics has expanded its robust timing solutions portfolio with the ProXO+ family of compact, ultralow-noise, temperature-controlled clock oscillators. Measuring 3.2 x 2.5 mm in an 8-pin plastic package, the high-frequency, differential oscillators are suitable for fibre-optic transceiver modules, accelerator cards, smart NIC cards and networking equipment applications.
The oscillators offer tight frequency stability (±3 ppm from -40 to +85°C temperature range), good jitter performance (135 fs typical phase jitter, 12 kHz–20 MHz) and high output frequency, which are critical features for the communications, cloud and compute markets. The family’s high level of programmability (programmable frequencies up to 2.1 GHz) also enables the use of a single device for numerous designs, simplifying the BOM, sourcing and inventory management.
The family can be combined with Renesas’s complementary clock buffers, power and microcontroller offerings to create comprehensive solutions for a variety of applications.
