Processor support

The Trace32 ICD and Trace32 PowerTools debuggers of Lauterbach support the Analog Devices Blackfin family of processors.

Blackfin combines the performance of DSP with the programming model of a RISC CPU. The processors are widely used in multimedia and motor vehicle telematics, and infotainment applications.

The modules, which can be connected to the host computer over a parallel port, USB or ethernet, support multicore debugging, which is required when a dual-core Blackfin processor is implemented or when Blackfin is operating with other cores, such as ARM.

Graphical display of variables and processing capabilities for large arrays are requirements that are demanded of the next generation of debugging tools by multi-format audio, video and image processing applications.

Trace32 debugger supports these features as well as the chip's hardware and software features. An unlimited number of software breakpoints in the RAM and flash memories, debugging at HLL and assembler levels and support of the most widely used C and C++ compilers are standard features.
