The QN9090 and QN9030 system-on-chips (SoCs), from NXP Semiconductors, feature support for Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity and optional NFC NTAG capabilities with a powerful CPU and advanced low-power modes. The intelligent connectivity solutions are powered by an Arm Cortex-M4 processor running at 48 MHz. The SoCs include up to 640 KB of onboard flash and 152 KB of SRAM, providing storage space and flexibility for complex applications and safe over-the-air (OTA) updates.
The QN9090T and QN9030T variants integrate NFC NTAG capability to support use cases such as out-of-band pairing. By tapping an IoT device based on the QN9090T or QN9030T with an NFC reader device, such as a smartphone or tablet, a Bluetooth Low Energy connection can be established quickly, simplifying the pairing process. The built-in NFC tag does not require the device to be powered, which means it creates additional opportunities for diagnostics or device commissioning in all stages of the device life cycle, from manufacturing to decommissioning.
The SoCs are designed to help accelerate development and time to market for developers creating products with rich features for diverse Internet of Things (IoT) applications such as personal healthcare devices, sports and fitness trackers, connected appliances, building and home automation, toys and gaming peripherals, as well as beacons and mesh networks.
