Nuvoton NuMicro M0A21/M0A23 series microcontroller

Nuvoton Technology’s NuMicro M0A21/M0A23 series is a 32-bit Arm Cortex-M0 high-performance microcontroller for automotive and industrial applications. The series provides rich analog and digital peripherals in SSOP20 and TSSOP28 packages, especially suitable for small form factor applications.

The series offers up to 18 IO pins in SSOP20 and up to 26 IO pins in TSSOP28 with optimised pin functions. It runs up to 48 MHz at an operating temperature of up to 125°C, with a wide operating voltage (2.4 to 5.5 V) and high immunity capability.

The IO pins can be assigned to multiple digital functions, including CAN 2.0B interface, UART, I²C, SPI, timer, LIN and PWM. The product provides up to 17 channels of 12-bit ADC, two set comparators and a 5-bit DAC to reduce components and the PCB size of end products. Suitable applications include battery management systems (BMS), automotive ultrasonic radar control, automotive lighting, automotive body control and power applications.

The series features 32 KB flash, 4 KB SRAM, rich peripheral including four sets of 32-bit timers, six channels of PWM, one set of CAN 2.0B interface supported CAN bootloader firmware update function, two sets of LIN, five sets of PDMA, two sets of UART support single-wire transmission, infrared and RS485 functions. Two sets of Nuvoton’s Universal Serial Communication Interface (USCI) can be flexibly defined as UART, SPI or I²C.

Multiple IDEs are supported, including the Keil MDK Nuvoton Edition, IAR EWARM and NuEclipse; the Keil MDK Nuvoton Edition (for NuMicro Cortex-M0 family) and NuEclipse are free to use. Easy-to-use software development tools including PinView and PinConfig are available to speed up the time to market.
