NPO ceramic high RF power multilayer capacitors

ATC and AJ Distributors have introduced the 800 series multilayer capacitor (MLC) products. The series uses a rugged NPO ceramic construction built in ATC's traditional case A and B configuration (0.55" x 0.55" and 0.11" x 0.11").

The series is designed to provide superior performance, especially at wireless frequencies and throughout the RF and microwave spectrum. Capacitance values and voltage ratings are equivalent to the company's 100 series MLCs.

It offers good performance in demanding high RF power applications requiring consistent and reliable operation. The combination of highly conductive metal electrode systems, optimised case geometries and proprietary dielectrics yields low ESR.

The company's NPO low loss rugged dielectrics are designed to provide superior heat transfer in high RF power applications. Ultra-low ESR and superior thermal performance ensure that the 800 B Series products are suitable for high RF power applications from VHF through microwave frequencies.

Typical applications include: VHF/UHF/HDTV broadcast transmitters; wireless communications; public safety radio; avionics; telecom; WiMAX; microwave communication systems and satellite systems.

Typical circuit applications include: high RF power filter networks, combiners, couplers, matching networks, output coupling, antenna coupling, and DC blocking and bypassing.

The series is available as an RoHS-compliant, 100% lead-free product. It is supplied on tape and reel, making it compatible with high-speed automated pick and place manufacturing operations.
