Backplane Systems Technology has launched the Neousys NRU-230V-AWP, an IP66-rated waterproof computer powered by the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin SoM and designed for rugged edge-AI applications in harsh environments. This device is suitable for use in roadside monitoring, food and chemical factories, mining, construction, agriculture and harbours. The device also features streamlined design and high-quality waterproof connectors.

The computer offers up to 275 sparse TOPS (INT8) AI inference capability and can transcode up to 22 1080P video streams simultaneously. It supports 8x GMSL2 automotive cameras through FAKRA Z connectors, 4x PoE+ GbE, and 1x 10GbE ports via M12 X-coded connectors. This versatility makes it suitable for vision-based AI applications.

The system is designed for fanless operation in temperatures ranging from -25 to 70°C and features a wide-range DC input (8–48 V) with ignition power control. It includes 2x isolated CAN 2.0 ports, 1x RS232 port and 1x isolated RS485 port, enhancing its suitability for in-vehicle deployment. Storage options include 64 GB eMMC, an M.2 NVMe socket and two internal 2.5″ SSD slots.

With its rugged design, AI capabilities and extensive connectivity options, the NRU-230V-AWP is designed for demanding industrial applications that require high-performance edge-AI computing.
