Tuesday, 09 June, 2020 | Supplied by: Backplane Systems Technology Pty Ltd

MPL’s universal managed 10-port Gigabit switch family, µMAGBES, is suitable for rugged and tough environments including railway, defence or maritime applications. The 19″, 10-port M12 version is compact and constructed to be rugged. It is designed for long-term availability, extended temperature capability, flexibility and low power requirements.

The product can be operated in a master/slave configuration, resulting in a flexible system with cascaded switch, and making it easy to increase the number of ports. The 1U, 19″ solution is available with 10 manageable ports; in cases where more ports are required, eg, 19 ports, a 2U housing will be provided. Internally, all LAN lines are equipped with lockable headers and are straight connected to the X-Coded M12 connector.

The standard input power of the device is 5–36 VDC and the switch uses less than 6 W at full speed. The fanless switch solution is operational in an environment of -20 up to +60°C and optionally at -40 to +85°C.
