Mikro Elektronic Panel PC

The DC13 panel PC is suitable for demanding HMI applications in the railway sector; for example, for monitoring and displaying train functions, for speed optimisation or for fleet management.

Based on the Intel Atom E620T with 0.6 GHz and a total power dissipation of only 13 W, the DC13 runs well at temperatures between -30 and +70°C and for 10 minutes at up to +85°C (railway class Tx) - even without maintenance-prone cooling with fans. Moreover, a sensor monitors the temperature of the display.

Apart from the 8.4″ TFT LCD display with a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels, the compact housing (245 x 200 x 50 mm) also accommodates 20 push-buttons typical for railway applications. The electronics inside the IP65- and EN 50155-compliant panel PC won’t start skidding if the journey causes shock and vibration and they are  prepared for coating against dust and humidity.

The PC is equipped with Power over Ethernet functionality via fast ethernet on an M12 connector, which allows for a power supply of 37 to 57 V (48 VDC nom). In addition, the DC13 offers a USB 2.0 interface, 512 MB DDR2 SDRAM and a microSD card slot.

An optional PCI Express Mini Card slot in combination with an antenna connector makes it possible to implement wireless functions like Wi-Fi, WIMAX, GSM/GPRS, UMTS, HSDPA and LTE - if required even GNSS (GPS/GLONASS) - for wireless communication. Further options include other display sizes from 7 to 15″, other CPUs from the Intel Atom E600 series or higher storage capacity.
