MEN DC2 panel computer

The panel computer DC2 is the first complete system with capacitive touch from MEN. Being fanless and maintenance free it is suitable for mobile applications. Typical ranges of application include displays in train driver cabins, buses or agricultural machines as well as information panels in vehicles or at stations.

The device is equipped with a 10.4 LCD TFT display with a 4:3 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. The touch panel has a response time of about 25 ms.

The computer is controlled via an Intel Atom XL Z520PT processor with a frequency of up to 1.33 GHz and a power consumption of 12 W. 1 GB DDR2 SDRAM memory and a 2 GB microSD card provide memory.

Standard I/O comprises two fast ethernet and two USB ports as well as four binary inputs via the 10-pin power supply connector. The ethernet interfaces have switch functionality to provide connection to subsequent intelligent displays. A temperature sensor is provided to monitor and control the display.

The unit’s control electronics are directly attached to the back of the display, hence customised screen sizes or aspect ratios can be used. Further options like using M12 connectors, changing the processor, connecting additional interfaces, a GPS adapter or HD audio can be performed. A MiniPCI Express card slot with an external antenna can be used for wireless functions like Wi-Fi, WIMAX, GSM/GPRS and UMTS.

The device is equipped with a 9 to 36 V wide-range power supply and can operate in a -40 to +70°C environment (+85°C for 10 min).
