Backplane has released InduKey’s InduProof-Med keyboard and mouse for medical applications. Keyboards are a perfect habitat for germs and pathogens — this keyboard has been designed to combat this problem area.

One of the main features is an antimicrobial agent that inhibits the growth of germs.

The keyboards are covered with silicone and have a protection rating of IP68. This means that the devices are waterproof and dust free and can be cleaned and disinfected.

A silicone mouse, the InduMouse-Med is available, which has the same characteristics as the keyboard. Optical scanning ensures that the mouse is also waterproof and dust free.
