Kontron E5-2600 Xeon processor range

Two carrier grade products channel the performance and bandwidth of the eight-core Xeon processor E5-2600 family.

Based on the standardised Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture (AdvancedTCA) specification, Kontron has unveiled the ‘dual-socket’ AdvancedTCA 10 GbE node blade AT8060.

With a total of up to 16 processor cores or 32 threads, four memory channels per processor, running at 1600 MHz, one AdvancedMC bay and intelligent power management controls, the node blade is suitable for high compute and content-aware network applications, implemented on the company's 10G and 40G AdvancedTCA open modular core platforms.

Features include: high bandwidth, low latency, bi-directional ring interconnect with faster access to 20 MB multibanked last level cache; dual 8 GT/s QPI interfaces between both processors for low PCIe and memory latency; total of 128 GB Memory (Up to 64 GB DDR3 on 4 DIMM per processor); AMC bay with PCIe x8 Gen2 + SATA connectivity; active power management via power node manager; integrated SAS; and rear transition module RTM8063 with two hot swap 2.5″ SAS hard drives.

Kontron has also introduced the NEBS-3 compliant communication rackmount server CG2200. Featuring a ‘dual-socket’ with the eight-core Xeon processor E5-2600 family, the server combines high memory, flexible I/O and storage options and dual redundant AC or DC power options into a compact 2U, 20″ deep form factor.

Features include: dual eight core Xeon processor E5-2600 family, 16T (16C, 32T per 2S E5 system); 16 slot, four channel support of DDR RDIMM/UDIMM; supports 256 GB maximum (with 16 GB DIMM); supports 2 PCI-E risers (four FL/FH cards) and two LP cards (one internal without rear I/O accessibility) for a total of six PCI-E IO cards; up to six hot-swap 2.5″ SAS/SATA HDDs; hot swap, redundant fans; integrated BMC (iBMC) with advanced options; RMM4; front panel: one serial, one USB 2.0; rear panel: one serial, four USB 2.0; one management NIC port; and quad rear GbE NIC ports (standard).
