Kemet has expanded its polymer tantalum portfolio by enhancing the T528 low equivalent series resistance (ESR)/equivalent series inductance (ESL) series, T521 high-voltage series and T520 polymer tantalum series.

The series introduces a newly constructed 5 m Ω Z case, reducing overall impedance for high switch frequency decoupling applications such as microprocessor decoupling.

The 5 mΩ design allows circuit designers to lower total capacitor counts.

Enhancements to the T521 high voltage polymer tantalum series include 16 and 35 V offerings in a number of capacitance values. The series is a popular solution for circuits that require higher voltages than are typically available in standard polymer tantalum devices and higher performance over traditional tantalum capacitors.

The company has also introduced six small case size parts in its standard high-demand T520 polymer tantalum series. Suitable for smartphones, notebook computers and other portable electronics applications, the series has expanded its offerings in the small A case sizes with voltage ratings of 4 and 6.3 V and capacitance ranges from 47 to 100 µF.
