JRexplus-DC single board computer

Kontron has extended its family of embedded 102 x 147 mm JRexplus single board computers with the latest JRexplus-DC based on the 45 nm Atom N270 processor.

Designed for use with PCI-104 expansion cards based on the PCI-104 standard, the device offers price-optimised performance for developing a wide range of extremely flat small form factor designs.

It has high processing performance at a low power envelope of 10 W. Front panel connectors are in the same place as on all standard JRexplus products for easy and fast design-in. Developers of compact devices benefit from the PCI-104 interface that enables the use of PCI-104 extension cards for developing application-specific solutions.

Compared with conventional PCI-104 boards, the board offers more standard interfaces and reduces the need for internal cabling.

Equipped with the mobile Intel 945GSE Express chipset and ICH7M south bridge, the SBC supports up to 1 GB of DDR2 RAM via the SO-DIMM slot and offers a wide range of interfaces.

For hard drives and other storage media, it has 2 x SATA and 1 x PATA interfaces. There is a gigabit ethernet port for network data exchange as well as an additional 10/100 Mb ethernet interface.

It has 6x USB 2.0 ports (two on the front panel) and 2x RS232 interfaces as well as 1x LPT floppy and PS/2 mouse. There are also 4x GPIO and a CF card on the back. Power supply is via the ATX conforming 10-pole connector.

In addition to the DVI-I for digital and analog video output, LCD flat panels with resolutions up to UXGA (1600 x 1200) are controlled directly via the JILI30 dual-channel LVDS interface.
