Gowanda Electronics SMG1812 RF inductors

The SMG1812 RF inductors from Gowanda Electronics are suitable for medical imaging and other magnetic-sensitive applications. With dimensions of 4.8 mm (length) x 3.4 mm (width) x 3.5 mm (height), the inductors are claimed to be the world’s smallest non-magnetic moulded RF inductors.

The overall size of the inductors is more than 40% smaller than Gowanda’s SMG3013 series. Gowanda’s development of smaller inductor designs is in response to the ongoing market trend for smaller devices and therefore smaller components. Inductors (in their role as filters) block certain frequencies that otherwise would compromise the performance of equipment or devices.

Technical specifications of the SMG1812 series include inductance from 0.010 to 0.082 µH, Q min from 35 to 40, SRF min from 750 to 1000 MHz, DCR max from 0.1 to 0.25 Ω, and current rating DC from 700 to 1230 mA. An RoHS-compliant (‘lead-free’) version is available and is denoted SMG1812LF.
