ELAP standalone EtherCAT interface encoder
The ELAP standalone EtherCAT interface encoder is steady, fast and ready to integrate into a range of applications such as I/O system, drives, sensors and actuators.
The design reduces system cabling and can simplify the architecture of networks. Additionally, it is EtherCAT certified.
This sleek system design has several mechanical interface options and has easy installation and maintenance features. Fitted as standard is a set of four LED indicators which shows operation status while in motion, which aids installation and allows for improved confidence in the field. With an IP67 rating and an operating temperature up to 70°C, it is suitable for harsh environments.
Combination of the MEM-BUS EtherCAT with encoder technology offers a flexible number of nodes and net topologies, giving freedom in system architecture. Slaves are automatically addressed, and this reduces system feedback lag. The smart encoder has a range of settable parameters that allow for flexible operations, including counting direction for bidirectional applications. The measuring steps per revolution can be adjusted up to 13-bit resolution, which can allow for system commissioning and tuning. Also the total measuring length in steps and speed resolution can be manipulated to give an added edge to flexibility.
