TelCom Semiconductor has announced its first high-performance audio amplifier.
The device's MSOP package is suitable for both mobile and cordless phones.
The TC4864 simplifies overall system design and saves board space and is well suited to notebooks or desktop computers, portable radios, hearing aids, and portable video games and toys.
The device operates over an input supply voltage range from 2.7 to 5.5 and is optimised for single supply. The TC4864 can deliver 300 mW of continuous average power into an 8 ohm load with less than 1% total harmonic distortion when powered from a 5 VDC source.
The device extends the operating time of battery-powered systems by consuming as little as 0.1 µA (typical) in shutdown/mute mode.
