Analog Devices' ADRF6806/ADRF6807 IQ modulator range

Friday, 30 March, 2012 | Supplied by: Arrow Electronics Australia Pty Ltd

A group of quadrature modulators and demodulators from Analog Devices Inc operate at frequencies of up to 2.4 GHz.

The devices offer a combination of performance, broadband operating frequency and flexible device architecture that makes them suitable for a variety of wireless infrastructure applications including: 2G, 2.5G and 3G cellular base station radios; high-capacity, point-to-point and point-to-multipoint radio links; wireless LAN; and aerospace and defence equipment.

The ADRF6806 and ADRF6807 are high dynamic range IQ devices with integrated PLLs and VCOs. The fractional-N PLL/synthesiser generates a frequency in the range of 2.8 to 4.2 GHz.

A programmable quadrature divider divides the output frequency of the VCO down to the required local oscillator frequency to drive the mixers in quadrature. Additionally, an output divider generates a divided down VCO signal for external use.

ADRF6806 features include: LO frequency range of 50 to 525 MHz; IQ frequency of 135 MHz; phase error of 0.5°; amplitude error of 0.1 dB; OIP3 +28.5 dBm; and noise figure 12.2 dB.

ADRF6807 features include: LO frequency range of 700 to 1050 MHz; IQ frequency of 170 MHz; phase error of 0.5°; amplitude error of 0.1 dB; OIP3 +26.7 dBm; and noise figure 13.1 dB.
