ADLINK HPERC-KBL Extreme Rugged VITA 75 COTS computing platform

ADLINK Technology has released its latest Extreme Rugged, SWaP-optimised VITA 75 COTS computing platform, the HPERC-KBL, designed for mission-critical applications such as C4ISR and use in demanding military and aerospace environments.

Focused on balancing SWaP constraints against high compute performance and scalability, the platform features VITA 75 standard mounting and silent passive cooling, with measurements of 223.7 x 177.8 x 98.7 mm for the conductive cold plate MC variant and 304.8 x 150 x 130 mm for the finned passive convection MH variant. It contains a quad-core Intel Xeon processor combined with 16 GB of ECC DDR4 memory to provide ample processing performance, which can be further enhanced with an optional NVIDIA Quadro MXM module for GPGPU-accelerated applications.

Removable SATA and SD storage provide data collection capabilities, while four Gigabit Ethernet and six USB ports via MIL-DTL-38999 connectors offer all the network and device connectivity required in demanding edge settings. An IP67-rated sealed enclosure small enough to mount under a vehicle seat or carry in a backpack, along with a MIL-STD-461F/810G/704F/1275E certified design, makes the device suitable for highly mobile environments where neither constant movement nor debris ingress can be allowed to interfere with demanding data processing tasks.

The heavily ruggedised nature of the product means the system should function in virtually any environment, from arctic to tropical, while withstanding the levels of shock and vibration expected in military engagements. It is a heterogeneous computing solution with real-time graphics and video processing capabilities, enabling a wide range of next-generation mission-critical applications including intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, radar, software-defined radio, sonar and forward looking infrared radiometry.
