Redfern Polymer Optics launches

Tuesday, 25 September, 2001

Redfern Polymer Optics, a developer and manufacturer of polymer planar and fibre components and polymer optical fibers, has just announced its formal launch. The company has raised $7.5 million in seed funding, mainly from Redfern Photonics.

Founded by Dr Ian Maxwell and Redfern Photonics, its focus is on high performance polymers for photonics products. The technology platform is based upon the intellectual property developed over the last 5 years by the research and development teams of the Australian Photonics Cooperative Research Centre, based at the Australian National University and the University of Sydney.
