Maxim MAX9613/MAX9615 low-power precision operational amplifiers

Maxim has introduced the MAX9613/MAX9615, low-power, precision operational amplifiers with rail-to-rail I/O. They have a self-calibration feature that allows offset correction or nulling at any time or temperature.

Each time the system is powered up, self-calibration is activated, thereby minimising system drift errors induced by temperature gradients. This saves designers time associated with manual system calibration, while ensuring that the system functions as specified.

The devices are suitable for sensor interfaces in portable industrial and medical applications that demand precision.

The company’s BiCMOS process technology and design architectures enable these devices to achieve a combination of size, precision performance, bandwidth and supply current. The op amps operate from a 1.8 to 5.5 V supply and consume 220 µA (typ) of quiescent current. Both devices offer low offset voltage (100 µV, max), low input-bias current (1.55 pA, max) and low voltage-noise density (28 nV/rt-Hz, typ). The 9613 has a shutdown mode for extended power savings, and also features good RF immunity.

Both are fully specified for operation over the -40 to +125°C motor vehicle temperature range.
