Maxim MAX11102 low-power devices
Broadening its range of 12-/10-/8-bit ADCs, Maxim has introduced the MAX11102 family of low-power devices.
The family comprises nine devices available in different resolution (12-/10-/8-bit), channel-count (2/1) and conversion-rate (3/2 Msps) configurations.
Designed to extend battery life in portable electronics, the devices offer a maximum power consumption of 9.9 mW. Additionally, they are said to be the only ADCs able to operate from a supply rail down to 2.2 V. Fast wake-up and shutdown times enable them to operate in burst mode, which minimises the time spent in active power mode.
Providing power savings without compromising performance, the family of yields a worst-case SNR of 70.5 dB and SINAD of 70 dB. The digital interface operates from 1.5 to 3.6 V, allowing direct connection to a wide range of SPI-based host devices without a level shifter.
Pin-for-pin compatibility between devices allows designers to change resolution without redesigning their board or control software.
