The MODAT-200 order entry PDA for hospitality applications such as taking orders, printing receipts, checking reservations and table status and collecting feedback has been released.
It is compact and ergonomic and has features such as a 3.5″ sunlight-readable, high brightness TFT touch screen with stylus input, Micro SD slot, mini USB, WLAN 802.11b/g connectivity and Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR. It is rated IP54 compliant and has a 667 MHz ARM CPU with built-in hardware codec (H.264/MPEG4/VC-1) and 2D/3D graphics acceleration. It is supplied with Windows Mobile 6.5.
The PDA offers real-time information for restaurant wait staff to provide their guests with five-star service. With the aid of this machine, staff can take orders accurately and easily, minimising the possibility of errors when taking orders especially when customers request a change to a regular dish.
It can notify staff immediately by built-in PDA vibration, speaker, headset or display flash - providing information such as the specials of the day, happy hour, sold out and hot selling alerts or when a dish is ready or a specials time frame has expired.
