Advantech has introduced an industrial-grade, Mini-ITX motherboard featuring the latest Intel Atom processors.

The single-core N450 and the dual-core D510 integrate the graphics and memory controller hub onto a single chip, enabling even smaller applications and even more power savings.

AIMB-212 brings I/O connectivity with up to eight USB 2.0 and six COM ports integrated in a standard 170 x 170 mm form factor. These motherboards also support dual display for LVDS and VGA.

The board is powered by the newest Atom processors. The graphics and memory controller are both integrated onto the same chip, enabling more space efficiency. The thermal design power rating of the N450 architecture is 5.5 W, while the D510 dual core processor is still 13 W, enabling further power reductions, smaller systems and performance improvements.

The board uses the Intel ICH8M chipset and provides DC 12 V support. It can support system memory of up to 2 GB of DDR2 667 SDRAM.

The device is supplied with high connectivity and expansion options. CompactFlash, PCI bus, six COM, eight USB, 8-bit GPIO, and Mini-PCIe expansion slots enable easy integration, while a dual Intel chipset 10/100/1000 Mbps ethernet port is also available to deliver high-speed networking.

With Intel’s integrated, embedded Gen3.5+ graphics core and 200/400 MHz render clock frequency for N450/D510, the board offers integrated 3D graphics and video capability with up to 224 MB of shared graphics memory. Dual display with multiple display types such as CVGA + LVDS is supplied and video output is complemented by HD audio.

The motherboard is suitable for gaming, education and kiosk applications.

Drivers and APIs are available for different operating systems including GPIO, SMBus, watchdog timer, hardware monitor, panel backlight on/off and brightness control.

Supported operating systems include Windows 7, Windows XP, XP Embedded, Windows CE and Linux.
