Southco appoints MD for Asia Pacific

Southco, a provider of engineered access hardware solutions such as latches, locks, fasteners, hinges and other accessories, has announced the appointment of Jay Lu as managing director of Southco Asia Pacific.

Lu joined Southco Greater China as its general manager in September 2015, bringing extensive experience in strategic planning and global business management. He previously spent more than 10 years at Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions, serving as director of Asia Pacific, OEM Business Unit and later as general manager, Global OEM Business Unit of Scanning & Mobility Division, where he oversaw the division’s business in Asia Pacific, the Americas and Europe.

In his new position, Lu will lead Southco’s entire Asia Pacific team to drive regional business to the next level with sustainable and profitable growth. He will be based in the company’s Asia Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong and will report directly to its president, Thomas Mehler.

“Jay expanded Southco’s Greater China business with double-digit growth in 2016,” said Mehler. “I am confident that he will continue to grow the company’s business in Asia Pacific by driving solid connectivity with our customers, deliver solutions that bring customer satisfaction to an even higher level and reach a broader clientele.”
