Future Electronics has signed a new distribution agreement with Maxim Integrated Products, a developer of integrated circuits. Future will now distribute Maxim’s high-performance product portfolio throughout the Americas, in what is said to be a significant expansion of Maxim’s global sales strategy.

“Future Electronics’ customer expansion in the mass market aligns with our vision to provide more designers with the most innovative analog/mixed-signal products, full technical support and on-time delivery,” said David Loftus, vice president of worldwide sales and marketing at Maxim Integrated. “Adding Future Electronics to our distribution team provides great complementary value to our strong existing channel.”

The news comes just two weeks after Future Electronics signed a global distribution agreement with Rigado, a manufacturer of integrated IoT solutions including certified wireless modules, configurable IoT gateways and cloud-based management tools. The full Rigado portfolio of products and services will be supported by Future’s RF/wireless division, Future Connectivity Solutions.

“The addition of Rigado to our already strong RF/wireless module portfolio allows us to better support the NXP Semiconductor family of wireless chipsets,” said Matthew Rotholz, vice president, marketing, Future Connectivity Solutions. “The need for embedded technology is continuously advancing as customers are under significant pressure to shorten design cycles.”

Finally, Future was recently named Passives Distributor of the Year, Actives Distributor of the Year and Overall Distributor of the Year for 2016 by Vishay for the Americas. The announcement was made at the Electronic Distribution Show (EDS), held in Las Vegas from 16–19 May, and marks the first time that one distributor has won all three awards in the same year.

“Future Electronics and Vishay have had a close and mutually rewarding partnership for many years,” said David Valetta, executive vice president, worldwide sales, Vishay. “These awards are well deserved in recognition of outstanding support for Vishay and for superior business performance, and I thank Future for their efforts and commitment.”

“This is a truly fantastic achievement and we are very proud to have been honoured by the Vishay management team,” said Karim Yasmine, vice-president of supplier development for Future Electronics.

“2017 is also shaping up to be a strong year, and we look forward to keeping the momentum going.”
