Digi-Key announces distributorship with ERNI, video series
Electronic components distributor Digi-Key Electronics has secured a global distribution partnership with ERNI Electronics to offer robust electronic connectors for a wide range of industries, including IoT, automotive, transportation, aerospace, military, industrial, medical, lighting, communications and instrumentation.
ERNI connectors and cable assemblies are known for their security and strong vibration resistance, achieved through designs that include dual beam female contacts, terminal position assurance (TPA) and scoop-proof housings. A number of termination styles are available with ERNI products, including surface mount, pressfit and solder.
The company first introduced DIN in 1968 and has continued to develop strong interconnect solutions since. Its portfolio includes board-to-board products such as DIN, 2 mm HM ERmet and ZD as well as a powerful line of wire-to-board products including the 2.54 mm pitch MaxiBridge with 12 A and MicroBridge with a 1.27 mm pitch that carries 9 A per contact.
“The breadth and depth of the ERNI portfolio is one that designers from all industries look to for quality, robust and reliable solutions,” said David Stein, Vice President of Global Supplier Management for Digi-Key. “We look forward to marketing and making available ERNI’s MaxiBridge and other surface mount connector solutions to our global engineering customer base.”
“ERNI values the strong and growing relationships we have with distribution and we’re very excited to now be partnered with Digi-Key Electronics,” said Bill Knable, President, ERNI Electronics Americas Region. “We look forward to reaching new audiences, those that turn to Digi-Key for quality electronic connectors.”
Separate to this, Digi-Key has launched a new video series focused on smart cities, sponsored by TE Connectivity and Microchip Technology.
Titled ‘Smarter, Safer Cities’, the three-part video series focuses on some of the most advanced cities in the world and how the latest technology and innovations in public safety combine to reshape the way people work, commute and live in the smart cities of the modern era.
“We’re excited to explore and share how smart city technologies are transforming and empowering everything from public safety to sustainability, energy management and electric/autonomous vehicles to safe and productive workspaces,” said Robbie Paul, Director of IoT Business Solutions for Digi-Key Electronics. “Smart cities are the future and many Digi-Key customers and suppliers are playing critical roles in delivering innovative technologies to bring smart cities to life.”
The first of video in the series, ‘Public Safety Through Enhanced Awareness’, is now live on Digi-Key’s website. ‘Harvesting and Storing Sustainable Energy’ will be released in May and ‘Office Workers in The Next Normal’ will follow in June.
