Codan signs IT outsourcing deal with Dimension Data
Codan, an Australian-listed designer, manufacturer and marketer of electronics solutions for global markets, has hired Dimension Data, an ICT solutions and services provider, to provide outsourced IT support.
In September 2013, Dimension Data started to provide support for Codan’s IT environment which will see Dimension Data managing Codan’s network and security infrastructure, move sections of their current computer environment onto the Dimension Data cloud service, provide database support and an overarching service management layer.
Due to the global growth of Codan’s IT operations, it has become increasingly important for Codan to provide a responsive IT service to support its roaming workforce, according to Codan. Dimension Data will be supporting Codan throughout its operations in Australia and globally, ultimately standardising the IT service experienced across the company’s global offices.
“The company understands that the nature of its products may cause the company to be a target of ‘hackers’ and, as reported in recent years, the unauthorised manufacture of counterfeit gold detectors in China has heightened the company’s awareness of this matter,” according to a company press release.
“Codan’s growth strategy has been driven by significant organic growth and by acquisition and as new companies are acquired, the support provided by Dimension Data will enable Codan to scale up within an extremely short time frame. By partnering with us, Codan can be assured that we will keep the lights on for them, enabling them to focus on delivering value back to the business,” said Rodd Cunico, Chief Executive Officer at Dimension Data.
“After the RFI tender, Dimension Data were the winners. We were impressed by their understanding of our business and their ability to deliver an outstanding service with great flexibility. We operate out of Adelaide and as our global footprint continues to expand, it is important for us to be able to drive the partnership both locally and globally. Dimension Data maintains a strong presence in South Australia and we are looking forward to working closely with them as we take the business forward,” said Allan Morichaud, Executive General Manager - Corporate Development and Systems at Codan.
