Austronics, Automate, Electrix Award Winners

The Austronics, Automate, Electrix awards were presented at a gala function compered by John Blackman in the Auditorium at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre on Tuesday 15th October 2002. The winners are listed below.

The Ed Hale Surface Mount Product Award was judged by Andrew Pollack, Executive Officer, SMCBA and was presented by Mrs Hale, to Electronic Development Sales Pty Ltd for their MYDATA AGILIS FEEDER.

Angus M Robinson, Chief Executive, AEEMA presented the Austronics Best New Product Award to Rohwedder Pty Ltd for the Semi-automatic Testing Station. The finalists were Adilam Electronics Pty Ltd and Nucleus Computer Services Pty Ltd.

Angus then presented the Electrix - Best New Product Award to ATCO Controls Pty Ltd for the TE-OC Track Control. Finalists for this award were ERICO and Tekelek.

The Cleaner Greener Smarter "“ Best New Product Award was a new award and Angus presented Tekelek with the winner's certificate for their Appliance Controller Universal Slimline Evaporative Cooler Control System. Finalists were ABB and Luna Glow Pty Ltd.

There were two winners for the Automate "“ Best New Product Award. Branko Miletic, Editor of What's New in Process Engineering presented the awards to Balluff-Leuze Pty Ltd for the DDLS200 and Yokogawa Australia Pty Ltd for their STARDOM. Finalists for the award were Balluff-Leuze Pty Ltd for the Rotoscan RS4-4, MillenniumIT for the Illuminatorâ„¢ and Marand Precision Engineering for the Roll Hemming Cell.

John Psalidas, Exhibition Manager then presented the Best Stand awards beginning with the Austronics "“ Shell Scheme which was won by The PB Company Pty Ltd, Stand K43. The finalists were Adilam Electronics Pty Ltd, Stand I43 and What's New Magazines, Stand G21.

The Winner of the Austronics "“ Free Design was Telectran International Pty Ltd, Stand I33 from finalists Rittal Electronic Systems, Stand H27 and Rohwedder Pty Ltd, Stand J9.

Then followed the Automate "“ Shell Scheme Award presented to Norgren Pty Ltd, Stand D33. Finalists were Control Synergy, Stand E27 and WIKA Australia, Stand E43.

Automate "“ Free Design winner was John Hart Automation & Robotics, Stand B1 with the finalists being EDS, Stand B9 and Pilz Australia Industrial Automation, Stand E1.

The final awards were Electrix "“ Shell Scheme which was presented to Stanilite Lighting, Stand N45. The finalists were Crompton Instruments, Stand L49 and GMT Lighting, Stand N16

Schneider Electric (Aust) Pty Ltd, Stand M33 was presented with the Electrix "“ Free Design Award with the finalists being Rittal Pty Ltd, Stand L1 and Weidmuller Pty Ltd, Stand N13.
