Australian Defence contract awarded to New Zealand company
A contract to design and develop a component device for a highly advanced, mobile secure communications system, has been awarded to Christchurch-based, Bluewater Systems.
The contract to provide advanced electronics development services, was awarded by the Defence, Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO), part of the Australian Department of Defence.
"It is excellent news that a New Zealand company has secured a development contract for the Australian Dept of Defence, especially as it is with a progressive organisation such as the DSTO. New Zealand companies have long been recognised for their innovation and design skills and it is important that these skills are utilised in the area of defence technology," Doug Pauling, chairman of the Defence Industry Committee of New Zealand, said.
