Wednesday, 30 April, 2014 | Supplied by: Phoenix Contact Pty Ltd

Phoenix Contact is expanding its surface mount device (SMD) components with the SPT-SMD PCB terminal. The push-in connector with integrated spring-cage connection makes it easy to connect and disconnect wires up to 1.5 mm2 without any special tools.

Available in versions with two to 12 positions, the PCB terminals can handle currents up to 13.5 A and voltages up to 320 V.

Delivered in tape-on-reel packaging, the terminals for automatically populating PCBs are available in a horizontal and vertical orientation. The horizontal version features two anchoring pins for added stability, while the vertical model comes with twin soldering pins.

The company is further expanding its line of SMD-capable PCB terminals with quick connection technology to include the SMD components.
