OKW CARRYTEC M Slim portable instrument enclosures

OKW’s CARRYTEC M portable instrument enclosures are now available in a slim version for tablet-style electronics. CARRYTEC M Slim is aimed at tablets and instruments that have modest space requirements but still require a tough level of protection.

The enclosures have been designed for medical and wellness applications, communications, data recording, plant and machine construction, agriculture and forest management. Applications include portable and desktop electronics — units can even be fitted to suspension arms.

The product’s integrated handle is said to make it tougher than enclosures with a separate handle, while its soft-grip TPE insert means the device is comfortable to carry. Other features include a large recessed top for membrane keypads, plus screw pillars for PCBs in both the base and top section. Interfaces can be installed at the rear for easy cable management.

The CARRYTEC M Slim size is 270 x 247 x 42 mm — other sizes include L (348 x 303 x 117 mm), M (270 x 247 x 91 mm) and S (222 x 205 x 80 mm). All are available in ABS for indoor applications and robust ASA+PC-FR for outdoor work.

Standard colours are off-white for the ABS version and lava grey for ASA+PC-FR (custom colours are also available). Accessories include an IP54 seal, holding clamps, self-tapping screws and a Torx T10 screwdriver. The enclosures can be customised on request, with services including CNC milling and drilling, digital printing or engraving of legends and logos, special finishes, EMC shielding, keypads and assembly.
